1. The reason it is important to create a high level plan for your website is because if you don't plan for everyones needs, you may have an unbalanced design that is not user friendly, or may not work for everyone. Building a website is like building a house, you must have the architechtual design before you can start to build the house. The same goes for a website; if you don't have a plan in order, then you will have a shoddy website that either the client or customer may not like.
2. There are seven steps to planning a website and they are the basic steps you will need to take to have a successful project. They are: 1. Define project requirements, 2. Conduct research and analysis, 3. Develop design, 4. Build, 5. Test, 6. Deploy, and last is 7. Maintain.
3. An information architect analyzes, organizes and labels information on the Web to be intuitive and usable. The ten major roles of an information architect are:
1. Primary audience goals.
2. Personas
3. Current content inventory
4. Competitive analysis
5. Content strategy
6. Content outline
7. Content gap analysis
8. Site diagram
9. Page description diagrams
10. Wiregrames
