Homework #1

B. "What It Takes To Be Great"
Collin is saying that in his article that from research, greatness doesn't come from natural born talent. If you are able to do a skill especially well, you are able to succeed. Some examples of this could be Tiger Woods, who started at a very young age developing his skill and because he was able to do this skill especially well, he is able to be great. You must put many hours into the thing you are trying to develop. Those who achieve greatness are continuously learning; most of us learn someting fairly quickly at the beginning, but our learning tends to slow the more we know about a subject. Those who have achieved greatness in our eyes learn at a consistent pace, not slowing down.

1. The internet would be defined as a collection of computers and other devices that are connected to each other. The World Wide Web would be defined as a collection of software and protocols installed on most if not all of the computers connected to the internet. What that means to me, if that it consists of all the web pages that are stored on the internet. The difference between the two is that the internet houses the World Wide Web.

2.  A Web server is a computer program that delivers (serves) content, such as Web pages, using the Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP), over the World Wide Web. The term Web server can also refer to the computer or virtual machine running the program. A web server recieves the clients request for a web page, and it sends the IP to the computer to recieve the web page.

3.  A web browser is a software application for retrieving, presenting, and traversing information resources on the World Wide Web. The primary purpose of a web browser is to bring information resources to the user.

4. A URL stands for Universal Resource Locator. Is is the computers specific number that connects pages to names.

5. Three core technologies that make up the web are addresses, protocols and external links. An address can be the URL or it can be the name of a website. A protocol on the web is
